Members of Islington Keep Our NHS Public (IKONP) joined NHS nurses on picket lines and demonstrations around London in December and January.

The strikes, calling for fair pay and better conditions for patients, took place at various NHS trusts. Strikers at St Thomas’s on 15 December 2022 (above) drew huge support from passersby.

Nurses at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children took to the streets to defend the NHS.

Demonstrations in Islington showed continuing support for NHS staff on 20 December 2022. IKONP went to The Whittington Hospital.

The sun shone on a show of solidarity at Islington Town Hall from IKONP, SOSNHS Islington, Islington Pensioners Forum, Islington Trades Unions Council, Islington Labour Party and others.

18 January 2023

IKONP joined NHS staff on the picket outside UCLH on 18 January 2023, and the march afterwards to 10 Downing Street. There was loud support from the public as we travelled along the route.
