2020 has seen Covid-19 wreak havoc in the UK. The pandemic has had a huge impact on daily lives and livelihoods and, tragically, by the end of December over 72,000 people had died. All of this has brutally exposed Britain’s deep-seated race and class inequalities. At the same time, this desperate situation has highlighted the extraordinary skill and dedication of NHS staff, who continue to achieve so much despite years of low pay, cuts and underfunding and risk their lives at the frontline every day.

Did it have to be like this? Can it be different in future?
