RESTRICTIVE SCOPE OF TREATMENTS AVAILABLE TO NHS PATIENTS

Islington Clinical Commissioning Group and the CCGs in the other four boroughs of North Central London voted on 7 March 2019 to restrict the scope of treatments available to NHS patients. This change is called ‘Procedures of Limited Clinical Effectiveness’ but this is a euphemism as many of the treatments being banned are very effective.  In particular, this change will make it more difficult to get hip and knee replacement surgery and also cataract surgery.
