HACKNEY KONP meeting 27 February
HOW CAN WE ALL CAMPAIGN FOR OUR NHS LEADING UP THE GENERAL ELECTION?
Hackney Keep Our NHS Public is hosting an open meeting for all activists on Tuesday Feb 27th evening. [Time and venue to be announced]. ecent support for the junior doctors’ strikes and wonderful speeches made have indicated that the NHS is of deep concern to many many groups, trade unionists and other activists in Hackney. We know that you all go to so many meetings, and haven’t necessarily the time to join in Hackney KONP regular planning meetings. But many people have said to us they would like to join some practical action. This is a one-off meeting, in person, for us all to plan for some campaigning stalls leading up to the election in Hackney. The aim would be to publicise what is happening behind the strikes, the waiting lists, the long holds on the phone and the shocking charges on some migrants for NHS treatment. We want to hear ideas from other campaigners about how we can best get our NHS messaging across. National KONP is preparing a range of expert but simple to understand leaflets for this very purpose. We will have these leaflets available, discuss how best to use them and plan some dates ahead for stalls, which we find are very effective for getting the information out beyond the activist network . More information on this to come.
